Simalike Musika aka MKALIMANI is a Multi-Talented Recording and Visual Artist from Tanzania,East Africa.
Born in mwanza and raised in Arusha City where he spent most of his childhood and fell inlove with Hiphop at a young age of 12 years old.
Influenced by the likes of Jay Z,Missy Elliot and Eminem,he started off making Beats on his laptop computer for his 1st Rap crew names KINGDOM that he formed with two of his best friends.
The crew later broke up after moving to the capital city Dar es salaam for his college degree. Simalike kept making beats and secretly writing rhymes until he linked up with two other Hiphop heads,Desmond 'Killy' Charles and Patrick Henry 'PH' who together formed a group called 'Wanaitwa Uhuru'.

Together with his new found crew he kept growing as an Emcee, building networks and performing on different events in the city such as Lyricist Lounge Dar where he met many other great young artists such as H.I.M 'HakiLi' who is also a designer and a Sound Engineer, together they would later start their own street wear brand called African Class.

Due to creative differences SimaLike decided to become a solo artist and pursue his interest in Visual art, by joining a course in Video Directing at Tasuba an Art school in Bagamoyo where H.I.M was also doing a course in Sound Engineering.

SimaLike as a person is easy-going, charming and somewhat sensitive and introspected individual. A self-proclaimed philosopher, with interests in Mysticism, the workings of the mind and many things Esoteric. His art reflects themes of his personality too being non-conformist, imaginative but also people-oriented.
"I see visions before I write, I have a very keen eye for beauty, so some of my best ideas usually stem from a vision I would have or create, then that would set the foundation for my writing" Simalike.

Sima is now exploring his other Love, which is video and photography and plans on putting his imagination into utility by working with other Directors on creating more visual expression for his music, but also getting into community organizing later on in his career by utilizing (street) art for social reformation.
